I have years of experience with PHP 4, PHP 5 and Ruby, including application development frameworks in each of those languages. I have experience with developing applications from scratch and with maintaining and extending existing applications.

I also have experience with transitioning from a development stage to production. Pushing new features to a live site requires attention to detail and conscientious evaluation of the effect that those features will have on existing functionality and site users.

Not to be confused with web design, web software design entails architecting an application that does what you want it to do, even if you don't know the technical jargon to describe it. That's my job. I can help you put into simple language what functionality you want, piece by piece.

Although often overlooked, web application security is serious business. The web is a community, and leaving a back door open can be just as devastating as leaving the front door open.
